Hello all,

I recently purchased the complete MTH WiFi, lionel serial 2 complete setup from Legacy station. I am trying to set it up and I cannot get a Wi-Fi connection? When I turn on I get the the unit lights blinking and a constant blinking purple tiu light? I am trying to set it up either with the MTH set up or and ethernet set up and can't do either. I don't have anybody in my area and really need help as it is very frustrating. Is there anyone I could talk to that could talk me through the setup? I got the MTH Network set up but it says connected, no internet? I am really at a loss. I do have a Wi-Fi AT&T modem that does have the WPS button. I did talk to Legacy station and a suggested getting in touch with you guys. Again I would appreciate it very much if somebody could give their telephone number at my email address which is jba435@gmail.com

I live in the Metro Detroit area if you know anyone who could help me there.

I don't know if this makes a difference but the Lionel serial to device does not light up?

Also my blue Wi-Fi light on the MTH Wi-Fi module goes on blue, solid blue

ALso I hooked up an ethernet cable from my AT&T router to the MTH Wi-Fi. Please advise how I can ensure that I am getting a signal through the ethernet cable.

Much thanks for your help as always, Jerry20191214_15210720191214_15211920191214_152133

There is no internet access using the MTH network. Internet is only available from the MTH app if you connect everything through your home network. Sorry, but that's about all I know for the Wifi stuff, I don't use it. Maybe someone that's using all the Wifi stuff for both systems will be along to assist.

You are welcome. If you just want to get things going, my setup is pretty simple, but no wifi. This is pretty basic and since I don't know how far along you are with either system, just disregard the following paragraph if you already have things up and running as described below.

I had DCS first so my layout is wired for DCS per Barry's book. The layout is powered through the TIU channels to the tracks, I added Legacy by just connecting the Legacy base signal wire to all commons on the TIU outputs and it was up and running. I don't have any cables (like the MTH 50-1032) connecting the two systems together. I have to run MTH with the MTH system and Legacy/TMCC with the Legacy system. I can't run Legacy/TMCC with the DCS system, but that's just how I wanted it set up for my own use. This might at least get you up and going to gain some experience running things. Then you can add the wifi stuff maybe a piece at a time or something like that as you learn more about each system.

The TIU light should become solid, not blinking, after a few long moments. It does take some time.

Is there a light inside the TIU on solid? Is the TIU receiving power when you are trying this? How does it get power?

I don't have the Lionel side of this hooked up so I don't know anything about their serial connector box.

I would suggest getting the TIU working without the Legacy connected first. Unplug the serial connection.

That is just a guess from someone who doesn't have it though. I have TMCC and have issues but I'm running 2 rail. I have to keep them totally separate.

I might also suggest just hooking up the TIU to a single short test track to get things going. You could add stuff and see where there's an issue.

I'm thinking the whole set-up might be tougher to trouble shoot all connected at once.

" on Sour mash and cheap wine " ??

Why go back to DCC when I have DCS!

Thank you very much guys. I think you are right relative to maybe getting things going a little at a time. I did have MTH running fine before I tried adding this setup. The red light is on on the tiu. I just would like to be able to talk sit to somebody that has the setup.

Again, much thanks, Jerry
