In reviewing the documentation for the MTH WiFi adapter, I see there are the following sections in the table of contents:

Using the MTH Wi-Fi Network

Using the MTH Wi-Fi Network with Multiple TIUs

Using your HOME Wi-Fi Network

I do not see a section titled Using your HOME Wi-Fi Network with Multiple TIU's.   Is it possible to use your home network and multiple TIUs?  If so, is there documentation on how to set it up?

If it is not possible to use your home network with multiple TIUs, I will soon have an MTH MIU for sale.

Vince,

Download the following document: DCS WIU Full Instruction Manual.

Barry,

The document you referenced is the document from which I got the section titles in my original post.  I have read through those sections and there is no mention of how to configure for multiple TIU's using the home network.  In the section on using multiple TIU's using the MTH network it states:

"In this mode, the "master" module, that will act as a router, must be put in MTH mode. Then, as many as 4 additional TIUs can be connected. The additional modules must be put in HOME mode."

Reading through this section of manual, it talks about a "master" MIU (running MTH network mode) to which up to 4 additional "slave" MIU's connect (in Home network mode).  If that is the case, then I don't see how you can run all of your MIU's in home network mode to support multiple TIU's.

If there is no need to do anything special to run all MIU's in home network mode, then to be consistent, the documentation should indicate as such.  Given that the documentation does not provide any information, I have to question whether it is possible.

My understanding is that the version of the app that will support Super TIU mode is not out yet.  But, I have to believe testing has been done.  Has anyone in the beta program run multiple TIU's with all of the MIU's running in home network mode?

Vince,

Sorry, I misunderstood.

Just connect each WIU (not MIU) individually to your home network. The app should find and connect to them all.

It won't be in Super TIU mode (that's coming in the Spring), rather, it should work just like a DCS Remote whose TIUs are in Normal TIU mode, i.e., the app should be able to control any DCS engine as long as it's on a track connected to the TIU to which it was associated when it was last added to DCS.

Has anyone in the beta program run multiple TIU's with all of the MIU's running in home network mode?

I know that I have not.

Barry:   I just sent you two emails regarding my situation with the Wi-Fi system.  Today I hooked up my Wi-Fi system at a friends house on TIU 3 while his Wi-Fi was connected to his TIU 2.  Everything ran fine and we each ran two trains each, both using our iPads.  Someone else chimed in with their iPhone and again all ran well.  The "old timers" said they still prefer the old Lionel or MTH Z-4000 throttle but they will change with time!  lol

PS:  We even ran the MTH Cancer Awareness engine purchased today for my friends wife.

Matt and I upgraded new TIU's to version 5 last night. We will be installing and replacing these Rev L's on our layout at AGHR on Saturday. Also picked up 5 wifi units. They will also be installed on Saturday. Barring any unforseen problems, we will let you know how the wifi responds on multiple TIU's. Stay tuned. BTW, the WIFI was sensational on our test track. Much better response to commands than using conventional remote.
