My daughter, through her local toy store employment (shipping/receiving clerk), was able to acquire the NYC freight set. The engine is an F unit in a pseudo "lighting stripe" scheme. It has twin bright white LED headlights and a rear (backup?) light, also an LED. The engine is powered by six C batteries in a slide-in tray through the rear of the unit. The sound system has engine revolution simulation, a horn and bell, and crew talk to the dispatcher and is fairly well done and controlled by the three AAA battery powered remote. There is an on/off power switch on top of the engine which is turned on only after the remote has been powered. There are three cars all with fixed couplers: a pseudo NYC "Pacemaker" boxcar , a green chemical tank car, and a delightful center cupola caboose, all lettered NYC. The track is short sectional plastic straight and curved segments that snap tightly together. Unlike our beloved Steve Eastman, I elected not to convert my set to standard gauge. This toy set that cost me $99, has been a blast and it is the cheapest Lionel set I have ever owned and well worth it. I will try to make a video in the next day or two. :-)
