Hi

I am working on modernizing and weathering a set of Atlas TTX container cars and thought I would post what I have done so far.  I still need to add more rust/weathering and detail stuff.  I have faded the paint and put on an initial layer of road dirt.  I also have added a little graffiti.  Please let me know what you think!

Next I will break out the powders and also add some rust spots.

Thanks

Don

Don,

GREAT JOB!! Nice layout tracks what I can see,to as well as great benchwork.

Keep up the great work & keep the photos coming when possible.

Thank you,

Al Hummel

Hi

As far as prototype photos, I just google searched dttx 63179 and found photos of these cars.  I think it was on RR pictures archive .net or one of those sites.  Great resource!!!!   I saw these cars have patched out the atsf that was originally on them.  Then I just looked at several different sets in this number range and started.  I am not working off a specific car as that is just too much work for me.  A close representation is all I need.

Thanks

Don:

Very nicely done.  Not my modeling era, and I do not like graffiti, but your weathered and graffiti look sure looks like what I see in today's train consists.

Regards,

Jerry
