Need a screw size for MTH tender shell (30-1144)

Looks like a #6 screw.  (3.5mm dia).  #4 is 3mm, #8 is 4mm.  The gauged screws have thread pitch different from metric, so don't try to use a metric screw as a replacement for a gauged screw.

Interesting nomenclature that MTH uses. 6-32 x 8mm. To most it should read 6-32 x .250" or 1/4". Fasterners are spec'd either english or metric but not a mix of both.

MTH does use a mix of metric and english fasteners though so even made overseas its not all metric.

The good news 6-32 nylon screws should be available at your local hardware store and if you can't find 1/4" screws, longer ones can be easily cut.
