I'm hoping someone can catch what I'm doing wrong. I need to get Loader 5.0 installed on my rev H2 TIU to ultimately use wifi.  According to the remote, 4.20 is currently installed. The TIU doesn't have a USB, only the DP9. I purchased a DP9 to USB 2.0 cable, installed the software, and my Windows 10 notebook recognizes the port. I've read up and watched a couple of how to videos but must still be doing something wrong. I have the computer usb cable connected to the TIU DP9 with aux power on, and also using a stereo mini cable jumper. I downloaded consumer loader 5.0 and software 6.10.  I've tried the extracting to the desktop, and to the default temp directories that is the same for both software. I can open the loader program but when I click "system" and "Start" I go to an empty folder which I think is named myMTH files. So obviously (I think), when I click open, nothing happens. I've deleted and reinstalled both programs two or three times with no luck. I've turned the TIU power off and back on each time. I've also restarted the computer a couple of times. I've never seen a downloading progress bar appear at anytime except for the loader "allow loader to control computer" option. There are no older versions of loader on my computer. Any suggestions, I'm pretty sure it's something stupid LOL.

Thanks...Rich

Well? the loader is for the computer as you corrected later in your post.

Don't use the default directory when extracting. All that is wrong is something with the extraction. I'll try it myself and see the exact steps.

The first 3 steps are from my memory!

1) go to the MTH site and choose DCS software.

2) Choose the DCS software

3) choose Down load it and a form will appear that needs your info

when you download it a box should open of the new DCS software.

choose the file on your desktop for the dcs software by double clicking the new DCS software. a box opens and select browse for storage location. select desktop. select OK. click unzip. should report successful.

It is now ready to be installed. You should see 2 files on your desktop. 1 for TIU and 1 for remote. Both should be the current software (6.1)

I just did this and didn't write every step as I went. I use windows 10 and Microsoft browser. I don't know other browsers or software exact steps.

If you need clarity, please ask.

Thanks for your responses Engineer Joe! I knew it was something stupid since I’m computer illiterate. I presumed the loader would find the files and they’d show up in its My MTH Files directory. Unlike the service instruction video, there wasn’t, or maybe covered over, the Open Directory Location prompt. Once I opened the desktop directory it was smooth sailing! Now for the WIU. Don’t be surprised if I post a problem with that process!
