Need help with Lionel RS-3 wiring.

I ordered a replacement sound board but after its installation the horn doesn't sound right (erratic buzzing) and I've lost direction control, so I suspect I didn't do something right. I can't find a wiring diagram online and it's not obvious to me where the wires land (half dozen or so wire nuts) . If someone could post pics of the various wire nuts that would be fantastic, particularly illustrating where the black wire from the sound board lands. I have the 6-18843 Great Northern (dual motor, motor-in-truck, conventional control only).
