New Acela, will you be getting over the old?

While I do not have an Acela set, I would think that having more than on trainset would make for some very interesting NE corridor modeling. 

Anyone know if the new add on cars will work with the old set?

They will not.  The old set had IR transmitters between the engines and all the cars allowing the lead locomotive to communicate with the rest of the train.  Adding in the new cars will break that line of communication.  Also, the new cars have a different paint finish and wouldn't match the old set.
