We have just wrapped on a new DVD titled, Modern O Gauge Remote Control, Part One. This is a DVD I made with Tom McComas of TM Books and Videos.

This is an introductory video aimed at people who think they can never understand TMCC and Legacy. We have "Split Screen" technology so you can see the Legacy control along side the locomotive. The buttons are highlighted as they are pressed to show what the locomotive does.

We cover programing a locomotive with the module as well as the new LSC Sensor Track.

Also, how to program info from an original TMCC locomotive, in to the Cab-2 and many other features of Legacy.

We will cover advance operation and more features in part 2 due out next year.

We are debuting this DVD at York, so please stop by the TM Books and Videos booth in the Orange Hall.

I will be there selling them.

Stop by to say HI, and better yet, buy one!!!

Hi Marty

If you stop by the TM Booth in the Orange Hall on Thursday, I can give you a stack of the New Catalogs which has a nice description of the DVD to hand out. You can get as many as you need.

Thanks

Bob

Marty, I just talked with Tom and he does have a very nice Topic sheet on the DVD that is actually Better than the catalog. He will print out some, let me know how many you need and I'll have them there. You can of course get catalogs too.

Bob, has TM given up on further installments of "Toy Train Review?"   I was enjoying that until they stopped it.... as was also the case with the earlier "Lionel Nation."

Hi Ron

Tom stopped Lionel Nation because it restricted him to just Lionel. He then resurrected Toy Train Review which allows him to cover a much wider line of model trains. He does have a new Christmas Toy Train Review ready to go, but it will not be ready for a couple weeks, so it will not be at the York Show. I will be taking orders for it at the show though.

You might know that Tom made a Great DVD on the history of the Ford Mustang. Ford liked that so much they asked him to do one on the Ford F-150. That turned into a video on the history of Ford Trucks, which Tom has been working on pretty much all year, that is why you have not seen any other Toy Train Review.

When I proposed the Legacy DVD, he asked me to write it and we squeezed it in for York.

He is putting the finished touches on the Christmas TTR and after that he will work on the Ford Truck DVD which is due out early next year.

I'm sure he will return to Toy Train Review and you will see more of them next year as well.

In the mean time, please check out my Legacy DVD, I think you will like it, and of course we can place an order for the new Toy Train Review. If you are not going to York, please call 1-800- 892-2822 and place an order.

Thanks and I hope to see you at York!!

Art, did they move Chicago?  When I lived there almost 40 years ago, it was EAST of the Mississippi...

I just watched the video. I got a copy because I was there for part ( really small part) of the making of the DVD because Bob P and Tom McComas are good friends. It is very informative mainly because Bob P knows a lot about Cab1-2, Tmcc and Legacy not to mention being a great Lionel tech. Tom also does a outstanding job shooting the video. I have been to Tom's 'I Love Toy Trains' shop in Indiana and was lucky enough to see the layouts Tom uses in his videos.  I will be at York, PA with Bob this week. Hope I get to meet some the guys who have given me great advice here on OGR. Here's a picture of Bob at the shop plus some of the shop.

I have watched the video a couple of times now. This is the video needed for starting use of the Lionel Legacy System. The split screen technology is a real help to see what buttons are needed to command things correctly. I can't wait to see the advanced (Vol.2) and the Mth Dcs (Vol.3)video's that the DVD says are coming out next. I have purchased other video's from TM and all of them were definitely worth the money. TM did a great job with this video. Bring on the rest of this series ASAP. It is a great start to much needed instructions on these systems as they advance. Lets go TM bring them on soon!

Bob P,

I will order a copy shortly and after watching it I will post it with Barry's DCS book, and the OGR Video guide to DCS, as an educational addition to our hobby using new remote control technology, as we talk about Legacy/DCS.

I am very big on educational videos and books for our hobby, I always wanted Rich Melvin to produce a OGR Video on the TMCC/Legacy like his fantastic instructional video on the DCS, glad you did it, and thanks.
