New lionel 3 truck shay issues check your shays

I will but the front set of wheels  the gear teeth are not contacting to drive them

Does it run?  Almost seems the front set of wheels would need to have some movement in them for tighter curves. 

Would love to see a video and hear the sounds if you have a moment. Anxiously awaiting mine. 

i only turned it by hand  i can turn the drive shaft and  hold the wheels

Sort of looks like side frame may be nudged in transit or misaligned when assembled

any screws that can adjust the side frame?

Did anyone else receive their Shays?  If so, could we hear the sounds?

I have had to adjust several Shay models to get the gears to engage, I shim them until they work.  Looks like these are mechanically similar to the older models and have the same problems.

Great. My mogul  is at Lionel awaiting repairs. I didn’t receive the Shay yet. Hope I don’t have to send that in also. Tired of the quality issues with new pieces. What’s the point of buying this junk

Just read your post and went down to the layout to check mine. Just got it Tuesday and haven’t run it yet. Mine was the same. Gears not meshing on the front truck. I loosened the two screws on the side frame of the truck, readjusted the gear mesh and retightend the screws. Also lubricated all the gears with grease, which smothed the mesh nicely. I’ll try to post a video, There’s no module in the box and I am waiting for the power cable and 1.6 upgrade module from Ro for my LCS track, so I can’t play all the sounds. This is the best of all the WM Shays Lionel has produced. Runs and sounds great.

Thanks for posting that the sky isn't falling.

I'm not sure why you can't play all the sounds.  They no longer include an Orange module but if you entered the info manually into the Cab2 then you should be good to go.

Great picture this time. Are the wheels properly spaced. Per the above post if there is an adjustment then great. I hope it’s that simple, however it’s not your job to fix the quality problem.

could you poist a picture of how its done and where the screws are     I tried the sscrews on mine could figure it out   probaly over thinking
