The EJ&E versions aren't here yet, but the rest arrived. Pretty interesting schemes.

They only made Grand Trunk Western and SOO LINE GP38-2 diesels one time.

The Grand Trunk Western version was the GTW 5700 series which was then renumbered in the GTW 4900 series as soon as the CN 5700 series SD75I locomotives came into use on the CN/GTW in 1995. MTH has not made the GTW 4900 series in ProtoSounds 3.

MTH has not made the GTW 5800 series GP38-2s which were the first group of GP38-2s that were in service on the Grand Trunk Western. Many still have the 5800 series numbers. There are second-hand ROCK and P&LE locos in the later 5800 series. The GTW 5800 series GP38-2 are in use all over the Illinois Central and Wisconsin Central lines of the CN system in the USA.

The SOO LINE GP38-2 locos with the red 3M Scotchlite SOO, that were built in 1977, then renumbered 4400-4409 in 1978 or 1979, have never been made by MTH.

A short term scheme that most likely has not been produced are the Grand Trunk Western 5800 series GP38-2s that were operating on the subsidiaries the Central Vermont and the Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific with the CV and the DWP logos. This was during the 1980's and 1990's.

Nice but I am surprised that MTH has yet to make a "Plain Jane" Conrail- unit. All other roads have been done and nauseum in all three electronic packages. Only Conrail- was done in PS1( Conrail Quality) and PS3 bicentennial.

I went on a little Conrail buying spree awhile back. There wasn't a lot of choices really available. So I grabbed one here and there when I could. I would have bought more if they were available.

I ended up with extra CSX as they were the most plentiful it seemed.

" on Sour mash and cheap wine " ??

Why go back to DCC when I have DCS!

I am working on a list of custom run GP-38's for the next time MTH makes them - some good ideas here....

The Rock Island in THE ROCK  white and blue GP38-2 diesel locomotive has only been produced one time by MTH.

I looked for them again, and not one is for sale anywhere.

I was hoping to get one to pull and push trains of THE ROCK white and blue freight cars.

I've been looking for a MTH GP9 or GP38-2 in bankruptcy blue for a long time and haven't been able find any. I'd be happy if MTH would make a run of either one.

Agreed!  I’ve been emailing MTH product suggestions for a plain blue CR GP38-2 as well. I’d prefer a couple models in the 8100-series with ditch lights and cab signals, if they’re listening.....😀

Really good suggestions here - thanks

MTH did a Illinois Terminal with the block style lettering (2001-2004) using a GP40?, which the IT never had, instead of a GP38-2. Which I remember seeing when they were brand new in 1977. I agree with Andrew, some roads and schemes seem to never get made, for whatever reason. I think MTH did a nice job with their IT RS1 though.
