New Native App to read OGR

Has anyone tried the new Native App to read OGR on a tablet??? Saw a notice about it on the Digital Library page, downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, got it to recognize that I have a subscription, but then it only seems to allow me to preview an issue for a few minutes, after which it seems to require that I pay for the issue. Has anyone tried the new app with success???

P.S. The app seemed to page through the issue more smoothly than the online version.

Thanks.

Paul, I checked your record and you have an active digital subscription, so everything is OK there.

If it is only giving you the 5-minute preview, that means you're not logged in. You have to enter your email and password to log in. Once you do that, you'll be able to read everything.

If you have an active subscription but the latest issue has a price next to it, do this:

  1. Close and then re-open the app.
  2. Access "Settings" by tapping the little cog-wheel icon in the bottom right corner.
  3. Click on "Restore Purchases."
  4. Click "Cancel" to go back to the main page.
  5. Open an issue and see what happens.

If this does not work, delete and re-install the app.

Thanks Rich. Worked today. Seems much easier paging through the issue.

Rich,

I have the Digital Library Application on my phone, but every single magazine has a price next to it, and only lets me see the first 10 pages.

I have closed and re-opened the app, as well as uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple times.

When I go to log-in it says my subscription is until November 11, 2017, though I am pretty sure it is active longer than that, but it works fine on the computer.

Tony, I'm not sure why the app would be indicating an expiration date of 11/11/17. Your subscription doesn't expire until April 2018. Even with that expiration date, you should still be able to log in. The fact that you can only see 10 pages means you are not logged in.

Delete the app, reboot your device, then reinstall the app. Let's see what that does. Something is corrupted somewhere.

Rich. I am having the exact same Android problem as others. I tried emailing you at your "ceo" email but never received a response.  I have done everything that has been suggested as a fix but app still wants me to pay $4.99 for the new issue. I can read the previous issues with no problem.

Is there any resolution to this problem? Surely I can't be the only on out there who can't read the new issue. I think it's time for someone at OGR to resolve this. Emailing "ceo at..."does not elicit a response. I never had a problem before the introduction of the new app.

Frustrated,

Rick

This is not an OGR Problem. It is a MAZ Digital (our providers) problem. I have their Tech Support people on this, but no answer yet.

I received AND ANSWERED your email. Check your spam filter...

Rich,

With all due respect I always check my spam mailbox and I did not receive a response. I understand that this is a MAZ problem but I hope you understand my frustration that I never had this problem until you switched to MAZ and why this problem affects a narrow subset of readers is beyond me. As I stated, I can read the previous issues but not the latest.

If it has any bearing on this I am also unable to view the latest Lionel catalog online. I had to download it. I can read the new MTH catalog with no problems.

Thanks,

Rick

OK, I contacted MAZ technical support and gave them my OGR username and password. This is their reply:

Our backend team has tried retrieving your subscription information in the backend but unfortunately the email address and password mentioned below are not turning up with any information. I would suggest you to please get in touch with OGR Magazine directly with regards to the status of your account and any discrepancy that may exist between your credentials as you're entering them and as they are entered in their database.

So the problem is on the OGR end. They say. Rich says its in their end. I'm stuck in the middle. Yet here I am logged into the forum and posting.

Rick

Logging into this forum has nothing to do with your subscription. They are two separate sites and sets of login credentials. Giving MAZ your login credentials from this forum is the wrong info. No wonder they could not find anything. They would need your subscription email and password, or renewal code and zip code.

This afternoon MAZ told me they had found the problem...incorrect expiration date data being exchanged between their server and Subscription Genius, our subscription service provider. No resolution yet, however.
