the live flare.  That is a model that I could not build because first I'd have to understand, as you've set out, what everything was and did.  THAT would take a
LOT of homework on my part.

The field crew started hammering away at the first four tanks. They built them in record time so they can be home for Thanksgiving. All that is left is to put then posts and handrail on the spiral stairway of the fuel oil tank. The electricians will follow with some lights, and then the painters will come in.

I don't think that dikewall is high enough to handle the largest tank compartment spill plus 10%.

in our model world all dike wall capacities work. We are not working in the Bronx for mr. Ed on this one.

Thank you. Here are a couple of pictures of the construction of the two flaoting roof gasoline tanks. The tanks will have a common stairway that will rise to a mid platform and turn 90 degrees between the two tanks.

Here are a few more pictures with the two gasoline tanks in place. I will remove and paint the piping and apply stone to the area first.

I also have shown the colors I used on the stairway to make it look like galvanized steel and the colors I used on the inside of the open top tanks to look like rusted, unpainted steel.

I understand much of the materials for such a model are available from Plastruct, but your knowledge and understanding of such a facility make this happen to a level of excellence not commonly seen. Did you work in this industry perhaps? It is going to be very special indeed.

 I work at a company that builds and repairs above ground storage tanks. I have been going to facilities like this for over thirty years.

Please consider writing an article for OGR about your project. I am particularly interested in the workings of such a plant and your construction techniques. I think Forumites would love to read about how you plan, develop and finish something so special. Your work is second to none. I think the new Munoz Lines, currently in the development phase, will need to have you do something special. More on the news at 11.

The containment area is about 16 inches wide and 25 inches long on the inside. Add about 2 inches to each dimension to cover the dike walls.
