New PS 3 starting as soon as track is powered??? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I hope this is the right forum for my question.

I recently purchased my first PS3 locomotive a ES44AC Imperial Diesel (Christmas locomotive). Sometimes it starts up as soon as I power the track through the TIU and other times it waits for me to select "start engine".

My concern is I had lost many PS2 locomotives to blown boards before I had learned to add a BCR and really don't want a similar issue.

Is this part of the locomotive because of all the LED's or is there something else I should be looking at with the TIU or wiring? It's an old TIU but upgraded to 5.0 last year. BTW: I'm only running this train on the layout

It’s a PS3 problem. I have 3; one does it 90%, one does it 10%, and one hardly ever.

Look for the post from Willy Gee about moving the wires and bending the caps. I would have thought this issue was fixed?
