I just recently purchased a Lionel American Flyer 6-42560 Monongahela ES44AC (Super deal that I couldn't pass up). The catalog list the minimum curve at S-36. I take that to be 36" radius or Diameter? I also bought some A.C. Valu Lines "S" Gauge Track. 12 pieces of 10" curve 20" radius, after looking in the Lionel Track and power catalog which stated 20" Radius is 40" diameter. I haven't purchased a power pack yet or any other S-scale items as I am on the fence since I can't find any information about radius and other questions I have. Is the 12 pieces of 10" curve 20" radius a large enough radius for the minimum curve of the ES44AC's S-36? Also will a Lionel Powermax CW-40 or CW-80 work with S-scale? Any information will help? Thanks.

Well, not really.  IIRC the 20” is to the outside edge of the road bed rather than the centerline of the track.  I don’t know what they have to gain by this misinformation.  Original Am Flyer track radius is about 19.1268” to the centerline.
