about how far into the show?
About ten minutes from the end. Howard Hancock and Ryan Kunkle are featured, telling the Lionel story, along with a nice layout.

Is that hobby shop layout the Lionel store in NC? Rather funny they show a shot someone with a soldering iron with a board. The segment was way too fast. Isn’t Rod Stewart an HO guy?

Agreed. There's way too much to see -- and it's jammed into only a few minutes.
This is one of those times where you need a DVR so that you can play it over and over again until you've successfully taken it all in.
As far as HO, the whole segment is about the history of Toy Trains, not the history of O Gauge Toy Trains. Fortunately everything except the reference to Rod Stewart's layout was O Gauge.

The show devoted lots of time on Playdo, hoolahoops, all rather boring, until the trains segment at the end...the best part
