Picked this up today and had to share! Nicholas Smith has always gone above and beyond with their exclusive product offerings. This is the second exclusive item that I have bought from them, the first being an Aristocraft PCC painted in PTC 'green and cream'. I decided to pick it up ahead of the shipment of Strasburg coaches from 2020V1 as others might buy it out when picking up their pre-ordered cars. Stay tuned for pictures of it with the 3-pack of Strasburg coaches!

I have many of the Nicholas Smith Strasburg exclusives. I keep hoping they will start to produce the various rolling stock around the railroad. Like the Rutland and Ma&Pa Boxcars, PRR and NY&O hoppers, and especially the Flying A tank car. Perhaps these could all be custom runs from atlas? I would buy a complete consist if they were all offered.

Lionel did the Tidewater Tank Car at Strasburg not terribly long ago, maybe it was released a year or two ago? I have had one since it was released, very well done. See the Lionel page.

Beautiful coach. Were the prototypes wood or iron/steel-framed?

I'm not entirely sure; Strasburg's equipment roster has it listed as being built in 1910, I believe that at this point in time, cars were being built with metal frames but don't quote me on that. (I'm assuming by frame you mean just the 'floor/base' of the car, I know that the internal bracings on the cars are wood). Hopefully someone with more knowledge can add to my answer. The prototypes are definitely wood from the frame up though.

The Public Delivery Track is having a custom run of the Flying A tank cars done by Atlas, preorder on their website.

If they were to make another exclusive SRC item, I would go for the combine that is sold in the MTH add-on pack. I dont want the entire add-on pack as I don't want/ want to pay for the baggage car and wouldn't want to break up the set. I would also go for some of the rolling stock you mentioned as well if they offered it.

FWIW, MTH produced a three-car set of Strasburg woodside cars in 2009, it included #88 Marian.

It's weird because MTH has alternated between the 'Marian' and the (fictional) 'Lancaster County' as the observation car in that 3-pack add on set. The distinctive feature of the NS exclusive is that it does not have the observation deck, just as the real one.

I liked being able to purchase it separately as I'm not really interested in having the baggage car from the add-on set and wouldn't want to break up. As a side note, MTH closing (?) had factored into my decision to purchase it as the cars may never be made again.
