First run for these MERIT AWARD cars on the glacier line!

This video contains Connie Coy's and my Gundersen Brothers prototype Great Northern Railway woodchip hopper cars.

Each of these cars have 225 pieces of scratch built material on them!

These cars were judged by representatives of the National Model Railroad Association. Connie and I BOTH are in the process of trying to earn the designation of Master Model Railroader.

We have four more cars apiece to build in order to qualify for the Achievement Program master builder cars certificate. It takes a lot of time and effort to build model rail cars. Especially when you are trying to model a specific prototype.

Congrats. In my experience, aside from "Motive Power" certificate (which most people don't attempt) the "Cars" certificate is the hardest one to earn. Everyone can lay track and build structures, but to build cars- which have high concentrations of details and less room for error- takes real skill. I am glad to see you are doing well.
