I've developed a new problem with my S-Gauge Berkshire number 1225 from the 6-49632 Polar Express FlyerChief RTR set purchased in 2016. The chuff sound quit working. It will make one chuff sound when stopping the engine, and one chuff sound when starting it in either direction, but nothing when running. Is this a sound board problem (unavailable), or could it be a different cause which could be repairable?
Are you sure the background sounds aren't turned off?
Gunrunnerjohn - you hit the nail on the head again. I knew that I didn't purposely turn the sound switch off, but I must have bumped it off when I was handling the engine. Thank you very much for once again suggesting a cure for an ailing engine!
I like the easy ones. The clue was the chuffs are generated internally on the board, so it didn't sound like a board issue. And... it was a cheap fix as well!
Nice to have access to rocket scientists on this site!
