Without any North American Steam Locomotives, they can put the catalog on Itunes for all I care!
Exactly! LOL.

I for one like to sit on the almighty throne and read my favorite O gauge catalogs and magazines. This means holding real paper, turning real covers and pages. All you electronic, texting, maxi pad users are going to get over radiated and your testies will fall off.

In many cases Dave, there is no factory sample when the catalog is prepared for print. That was my point.
My point is, that when the product is produced, real photos are provided. This can easily and instantly done on line. As I said, so many models are current for many years, and the artist's impression is never replaced with real photos.
I think Dave Allen should appropriate some of his $$ towards more musical instruments. I have listened to his groove online and it is clear that he should expand his horizons with his vast talent.
Trains are good but next time I meet him I'll offer a jam/train discussion session! I have a set of new cymbals that need serious accompanyment.
Also have a wall of trains that might pique his interest!
Like the man said. Out of sight out of mind.

Was that pic in your post taken at a ham radio field day?
Do they have the old catalogs in the PDF versions, maybe I have missed them or just don't know where to look.

This is a fun topic, Catalogs are great, fun to read, as someone mentioned, they don't irradiate your lap, but they are often semi-fiction anyway. page 22 of the 2006 RTR catalog has a great pic of the NY Giants set, Never made. I've searched for a number of items on the MTH web site after seeing them in catalogs, but were never made. Fun to read, but I'm happy when they make the product!
