I recently purchased a new rev L TIU to replace an older TIU because of some performance issues.  When I simply swapped out the old for the new, the rev L TIU did not produce power from the variable circuit 1.  All other circuits work fine.  I am using an auxiliary power supply.  I reprogrammed the TIU and remote (with insightful support from this forum) hoping that this would solve the problem, but it has not.

Is there possible a DCS programming step that needs to be done or should I dismount the TIU (really a pain removing it from under the layout) and check the fuse?

Thanks,

Tom

Oh Boy! isn't this a know problem that 1 out of 8 tiu may have this problem. Hope I'm wrong. I would try the channel in fixed mode before taking it apart. Menu/System/dcs set up/ select channel/ and hit fxd.

Barry - can't find your e-mail in your profile.  Mine is tom-jasper@charter.net

Just checked the TIU DCS release and it is version 4.30.

Not sure what release was in the new rev L unit when I first installed it on my layout (replacing an old TIU), but out of the box it did not have power output on Variable Channel 1.  I called MTH and the technician asked me to update my remote from 2.10 to 4.3.  After updating both the remote and TIU with the latest software, the problem persists ... still cannot get output power on Variable Channel 1.

I tried the channel in the fixed mode as Gregg suggested and there was no change.
