Lionel hasn’t produced the yellow mane.  MTH listed this engine with a run of SD70Mac’s, which is completely the wrong tooling for this unit.  The prototype engine was a SD70M (DC not AC).  Most of the long hood details more closely match the SD70M.  The cab on the prototype is new and now looks kind of like the SD70Ace and since it’s been converted to AC it has the inverter box behind the cab (left side).

Because this is a NS specific rebuild (don’t know what the UP has planned for it’s 1,500 SD70M’s), it maybe hard to justify all new tooling.  Although, MTH and Lionel did the SD60E.  One can only hope...
