Anyone planning on attending in Salisbury, NC on the 3rd or 4th of July?  I think there is an event in the evening on the 2nd with a BBQ dinner and MTH.  I am coming up from GA with my son for the event on the 3rd and hopefully the 2nd as well.  Just looking to see who else on the forum plans on attending.

Thanks.

David

Will probably do the same here.  For anyone coming down, be prepared for it to be very hot and VERY humid.  It's been tame so far, but the heat has hit with a vengeance within the last few days and will likely remain until mid-September.  Welcome to the South!

Also, for anyone in need of a steam fix, the Southeast Thresher's Reunion in Denton (about 45 minutes from Spencer) will be running steam and, possibly, a 70-ton diesel the week going into July 4.  It's a balloon loop of about a mile and a half with some pretty good grades.  Pretty cool place, and well worth the visit if you have the time.  Trains will run about every 20 minutes or so, depending on crowds.

A few changes from my last reply:

Items not allowed:

Coolers (food and drink vendors will be on site)

Ladders and step stools

For those attending the Monday night MTH function at the depot, you must pay either the $5 or $15(with meal) fee to pick up your credentials for the 3rd or 4th activities. The museum staff will be in place for parking and will call booths starting at 7:15 am. All those who have purchase tickets should have received an email from Sarah Gettys yesterday with more details on the event.

It will be HOT - weather forecast on Monday is 99 degrees, and no cool front in sight for next week.
