The Northern Michigan Railroad Club is pleased to announce preorders for our latest club car offering!
They are MTH Premier 36' Woodside reefers
Two offerings in two available road numbers. The Rheingold reefer is prototypical from Michigan's Keweenaw in the heyday of copper mining in this area of Michigan. The Short's reefer celebrates Short's brewery in the greater Traverse City area. This car suggests a "what if" Short's was brewing over a hundred years ago. Truly a big celebration of Michigan beer!
To order please complete one or both of the attached forms and mail or email as directed. NMRRC will send you an email when cars arrive so you can pay for your order.

You have chosen two very nice cars. They should both sell very well. I hope you have some more ideas.
Nice! More Reefer Madness.
I really like those 36' beer reefers and have been acquiring quite a few. Really like the Short's offering as that's a beer I'm totally unfamiliar with. Very unique.
Interesting and attractive cars, but the Rheingold prototype reefer existed, and the Short's did not?

That's correct. The Rheingold reefer is based on a prototype and the Short's reefer is a fantasy scheme honoring a current Northern Michigan brewery.
Looks like two very attractive products from dedicated hobbyists in the Great Lake State. Very nice!

Here's some interesting information on Rheingold, including a picture of one of the prototype cars, of which there were only 4 or 5 used to transport the beer in the local area. Short's is a small craft brewery that didn't start making beer until 2004.
Luv the U.P. Rolling stock. Keep’em coming!

Also side note, tried to send a private message but couldn't, found that a tad bit odd..

Charlie, a Bell’s car in Oberon colors would be awesome….
These are going fast....
Since your reefers are going fast, I hope you have additional cars planned, Do you?

Excellent, really looking forward to receiving to the Rheingold reefer.
Have to thank Pat's Trains and MTH for making this project come together so nicely for the club.
They look good. Got notified a few days ago and sent my check. Looking forward...
I had placed an order for the cars through a dealer but after a phone call, I just found out that it was a mistake on their part and that I had to order through the club. I just emailed my order and hopefully it will be accepted.

Shouldn't be any problem getting your cars. They are checking emails daily.
Mine arrived a few days ago - nice job, guys!
Love the video Charlie. Thank you!
I like the Reingold one especially - very nice colors. Any of those left?

There should still be Rheingold reefers available for order.
I have 2 extra still packed in the original carton. Please PM me if interested. Al
Got my Rheingold reefer and really like it, but had a question. The MTH packaging refers to it as “O Scale” but it’s much smaller than say the LS&I Lionel (Lionscale) car I purchased from the club a couple of years ago. Were old timey reefers smaller or is it just that scale vs gauge thing?

The LS&I car is a 40' boxcar. The Rheingold reefer represents a 36' woodsided reefer. Both cars are scale and the size variation is correct. The reefer also would not have been as tall as the boxcar.
Glad your enjoying the cars!
Excellent. I wondered if that was it. Now just need a caboose!
