My engine should be coming back from lionel in a week or so. It's a legacy ac6000. I have my legacy 990 sitting here waiting.   When I get my engine back in not sure where to start.  Do I put the module that came with the engine in the legacy remote?   Then what are the simplest steps to set up the remote to this engine.   I already hooked the 990 up to my gw-180 controller and I think it is all set.  Just confused still about this

Read the manual. But basically you find the program switch on the locomotive, move it to the program position, place the loco on the tracks and power it up. On the legacy remote you will press the "Engine" button this is under the upper screen on the far left and select a 2 didgit loco ID anything other than 01 or 99. 01 should be reserved for operating in cab1 mode and 99 is the address that all locos will respond to. But dont worry about Cab1 mode at this time. Just select 02 and press the "SET" button bottom left of the controller. The loco should honk the horn and flash the lights. power it sown and put the locomotives program switch to the run position. The loco work is done and the loco is now programmed. to add the info from the orange module you will press "INFO" in the upper left of the controller and then select load engine data. Youre done!!!

The engine should be at ENG 1 as the default ID#.

Plug in the Legacy base, power up the GW-180.

Turn on the Cab-2 by pressing CTC.

Now press ENG and press 1 on the number pad.

You should be able to operate the engine. Move the horn slider to check.

Read the engine and the Legacy manual.

Now you can perform the process of loading the module for the engine data and reassigning the ID#.

Have fun!

Change the engine ID before loading the module. Refer to the engines manual for directions on how to do this .  It's best to never leave your engine ID at 1 and do not use 99 since it is a "Run All" command

This will walk you thru each step.

John, I somewhat know how to and went to lionellc.wordpress.com and looked around but did not see anything that looked like "Installing Legacy". Can you provide a link to the area or define where it was you found it.

Thank you in advance,
