Well John,

That's different.????

Quick side note to you.

I looked for you at York just to say hi. I was in and out fast .

Seen Marty, GGG, Alan, and several others.  OGR booth was so crowed couldn't even get close to it and I had little time in the hall , saw Rich and crew from distance. Got to meet several others but was so fast none of them I met will remember me .

Maybe get you that cold drink????? on my second York trip.

Will be a  more time to socialize with some luck. It sure was a fun time up there. It went way to fast.

Pretty slick contraption there. It is always amazing to me what some people can come up with and the things actually work. From the sound of that thing revving up, I kept waiting for it to 'blast off' at a high rate of speed right into a tree or something, like Wile E. Coyote. I didn't see 'Acme' anywhere on the equipment though, probably why it worked as was intended?

On the subject of jet-powered trains, M-497 still holds the speed record for conventional rail vehicles in North America - nearly 50 years ago. I recall reading an insider's account, alleging the speed run was somewhat reckless with the railcar practically airborne on grade crossing bumps.
