NYC subways in black & white

Very cool pics. I have a feeling that interior shot of the subway car with the curved roof is not in New York though

Growing up in Washington Heights in the 50's I was only familiar with the IND & IRT lines.I only rode the BMT lines once. Thought they were the ugly at that time.

Thats definitely not a BMT car They have some bad info on that one. Looks more like a London Underground car

This car is definitely in the US. Note the advertisements. If you look through the car windows, it looks like we can see a door pair from a BMT Standard.

I was wondering if this car was part of one of the BMT experimentals, Perhaps the set called " The Green Hornet"

The photo is an interior shot of the BMT Bluebird. 8000 was the car in servive on the Fulton St. El.

Ahhh that makes more sense The Green hornets had high windows similar to the R1's and that one has 1/2 size windows Just found the same pic on subway.org

Well you beat me to the punch here. I was just about to correct my earlier assessment. The Bluebirds lasted quite a while from he 1930s into the mid 50s. When new , they ran on the Fulton El to Park Row along with the Green Hornet and the Zephyr, the other BMT experimentals. When the Fulton El was closed in 1940, they went to work on other BMT Elevated lines finishing out on the Canarsie line. The photo is on this line.
