Eric's Train YouTube channel has an excellent video review.
It's more beautiful in person than in the catalog in my opinion. Really striking colors. Nothing looks quite like it in the history of toy trains. Only operated using the Universal Remote but that works very well. I think very good value for the money as I paid about $750 as I recall. Given current prices, this seems very reasonable for a Legacy loco and three 21 inch passenger cars. Even at a higher price, if bought with warranty from a Lionel dealer, I'd be satisfied.
Landsteiner - One caveat to your comment about the “warranty from a Lionel dealer”; I guess(?) IF any problems were to arise the engine and/or set would have to be shipped back to Lionel for repair now that February 7/22 has passed and L’s new Warranty Policy has come into effect?
Should have been clearer. I meant that if you bought it from an official Lionel dealer it has a warranty, if you buy it elsewhere or from another hobbyist, the price might be better, but no warranty.

Why does one video have 4 passenger cars and the next have only 3?

Car was dropped off to be picked up by another train. I do operating sessions
Don. Reason for no passengers is because they are waiting on the platform.😉
