It is Produced by Motive Power and Siemens.  Model number is  MP 8AC-3 The locomotive is an all new switcher design from the ground up. The locomotive is designed to operate longhood forward. The locomotive's prime mover is a Cummins QSK 23 engine, rated at 800hp, which is what the "8" in the model designation is for. The locomotive uses Kawasaki trucks and traction motors. NYCT designates the locomotive as "R156".  The first one is complete but I don't think it has shipped yet.

If N-1 and N-2 are the same/original NYCTA locomotives, I remember the day they were delivered by the NY Dock RR to the TA in Brooklyn. Had to be late 1970's and I was taking/trading color slides at that time. Paint scheme was different then though, possibly YELLOW of SOUTH BROOKLYN RWY or maybe the new TA BLUE/GRAY.

N1 and N2 are South Brooklyn Railway.  They wore a few different paint schemes.  But they wore the red with the SBK the longest.  The bottom pic is of #12 which I beleive N! and N2 were delivered in

Photographing these TA diesels was always an effort.

 

Had opportunity to ride in back of TA maintenance truck once in Brooklyn...just to get pictures in TA yard. It must have been odd to see TA truck driving slowly up and down the access roads by tracks with a guy popping up now and then. Cost me 2 6-packs and some pizza but I got some great photos!

 

Not that it was TA, but do you remember Pouch Terminal's Mack diesel? I was able to get to run it one day, well at least for about 100 yards at the Pouch warehouse terminal. Really liked the ship wheel logo.

I never had the opportunity to see the Pouch Terminal Mack   I have seen many pictures of it.  This was one of my favorites  It's a little Porter Engine that switched G&R packing in Bay Ridge.  This was taken from the 7th ave. overpass on the Sea Beach
