Looking to buy a scale 3 rail pennsy mikado. I’ve seen the k line ones but from what I see they’re semi scale. If you or anyone you know is willing to sell a PRR mikado please email me @williams.sam40@yahoo.com

There might be 1 or 2 three rail pre-war 3rd Rail versions still available if you call 3rd Rail. They are outstanding models.
I missed out on a postwar 2 rail version and I'm still disappointed.
The weaver Brass mikado is a pretty decent model. It was made in both 2 and 3 rail versions. You could add whatever electronics you prefer.
Williams also did one but I don't tbink it is quite as nice as the Weaver.
You did not mention 2 or 3 rail. In 2 rail, they were done by Max Grey, and US Hobbies. I have 2 US Hobbies version and I really like them
The Sunset 3rd rail is the latest most detailed. It is very nice too.
I have a 2-rail USH I might part with. Not going to give it away, though.
To complicate things, the PRR had two Mikados. The L1 was their own design with the Belpaire firebox of which they built 574, and the L2 USRA version where they bought 38 at the end of WW1 and then quickly sold 33 of them, leaving 5. The scale K-Line is an L2 as well as all Lionel's PRR Mikados.
Almost everyone makes an L2 since it was a USRA design used by many roads. The L1, being specific to the Pennsy, is harder to find. MTH made an L1 as well as 3rd Rail, Weaver, Williams and some high end companies.
Here is a K-Line L2:

We have the Williams, and the Weaver L-1's in 3 rail here, brass. I can dig them out and look at condition if interested. Im gonna guess price for the williams 500-600, the weaver around 800., depending on condition. Both are conventional operation, no sound or tmcc. Prob have sleuth smoke units. If interested, LMK.
Weaver 3rail Pennsy L1s, with an EOB upgrade.
There was discussion about the Round number plate, front boiler, and the Pennsy Keystone number plate.
Wasn't the Keystone used on passenger locos and the round disk on freight engines?
In general, yes. There were a few exceptions like the ex-N&W Y-3's that got keystones.
For the L1s above, the round plate is correct except that the background should be black instead of red. It's easy to change.
1) Paint the plate, numbers and all, with gloss black paint.
2) Lightly sand the numbers and the raised ring around the plate with #400 emery paper. A few light swipes is all it takes.
I forgot to mention the black until after I'd hit "post..."

That’s a gorgeous locomotive!

Thank you for that piece of info! No doubt they both look great!

Do you know what the part number for the scale k-line mikado is? Or is the one pictured possibly for sale?
The USRA Mikado seems to have been a good loco. so it is confusing as to why PRR didn't keep more of them. However they did have the large fleet of their own design and they had built a bunch of I1 Decapods for drag freights starting in 1916 I think. So maybe they just did not need the USRA version.
I think the 5 L2s were assigned to the LIttle Miami which was part of the Grand Rapids and Indiana.
