today was testing with the hoses between the turbine and propane tender you see on the real pictures, I think to use other hoses hope to find those but for now was testing how it runs with hoses in turns and how long those hoses should be hope like the real one. Now I find it too thick more cool do with the hoses it is.

Those turbines are nice but so rare. I wish Sunset would consider doing them..... They would be fantastic runners and probably as great as Overlands in term of details.

Yves

Yes indeed very rare took me years to find those. Yes I hope Sunset consider the turbines😃that will be something the last one (overland coal turbine) was about 20 years ago.

Beautiful propane turbine. I recently acquired an OMI custom ptd standard turbine and the paint looks just like yours and is one of the best painted turbines (except the 8500HP) turbine models I've owned. Whoever Tom used at that time was fantastic. It also has the addition of new u-joints and is the smoothest running tank drive turbine I've own........a first on both accounts. That’s a beauty I saw this one on American Scale Models is this the one also a custom painted by overland same as mine. The propane turbine runs very good the best of all the turbines I have except the coal turbine that one runs also very good.

Yes it is.  A good friend told me about it or I would have missed it.  By far, it's one of the nicest of maybe a dozen 4500HP "baby" turbines I've owned over the past 30 years, including a very smooth running re-powered unit.

I bought this turbine for it's looks and thought it would be a display piece only, so you can imagine my surprise when it ran smoothly and quietly, which is not a trait of stock OMI "tank drive" turbines and like another unpainted "new" standard turbine I own, it's a real clunker.

Wel mine also came from American Scale Models I think those two turbines from one person because I want to buy you have but to late and was sold, so there was a other the propane he had two and indeed also I was very surprised that it ran smoothly and quietly. We both bought very rare turbines I enjoy it every day😃

I'd say you nailed it, Edwin. Your modelling continues to inspire!

That would be nice, but not sure there would be enough interest. The OMI's are starting to come out of the woodwork, as older collectors are selling or dying off. I have an unpainted natural brass model as well, and I will try and copy whatever was done to the AOS model to make it run better. And, finding a good painter these days is like winning the lottery and you need decals as well.

My unptd model barely runs and sounds like a threshing machine, which is typical of unmodified 1st generation OMI turbines. Lovely models, but a reputation for shedding details (poor solder joints) and absolutely horrible runners in stock condition.

a while ago I'm not yet continue with the service facility for my turbines or even weathering cars, locomotives. the hobby is standing stil at the moment I hope to go forwards in time but it is a hobby. I want to share some pictures in black and white hope you like it also the Turbine with propane and the Jordan Spreader. The color pictures have been adjusted.

You have a gift for weathering!  Really adds to the image you're creating with your layout.

Thank you UP148, I have a lot to do in weathering and how more you do it how more you learn😁it is also a challenge for me how to weather the next car, but I always use pictures in books and the internet and have enough material to do fun things.

Great lighting!   Wonderful detail!   Sooooo realistic!

Cheers, Dave

I think I've asked this before, but if so, I've forgotten the answer, but what camera are you using. The clarity of the photos is phenomenal. I'm using a Nixon D5600 and can't come close to the clarity of you photos.  It's most likely me, but can SD cards loose clarity after being adding and deleting photos many times?

UP148, I’m using a Apple IPhone 12 Pro Max what you can do is amazing😁but don’t know about the SD cards loose clarity if you do many times adding and deleting. I also do a lot of lighting myself to make the best picture as possible.
