how many of you switched from getting a copy through the mail and just do online mag. And how do you like the online mag.

I had subscribed years ago, but opted to pick it up in the hobby store to force me into the stores on a regular basis. Problem was that between carpooling to work and the club on weekends, that was becoming difficult, plus I had magazines staked everywhere. Went digital and save them as PDF's for future reference. I don't read those other magazines enough to justify a digital subscription.
I love getting the digital version. I work offshore, so I just keep them all on my laptop/tablet. That way I can read them and not have to carry a stack of magazines on the ship with me.
I didn't think I'd like the digital version and only spent the $$$ to support the forum. But, since becoming a digital subscriber, I've come to prefer it because I travel a good bit and have my laptop with me at all times. So I can access the mag anytime, anywhere I can get an internet connection; and, I'm learning to save the articles/information in the magazine. So, much more convenient for me than a paper copy.
Print only. I get one digital/online train mag.....it's free. Otherwise I want print.
I subscribe to the print version to read and digital mainly to support the forum, but digital also gives you access to older issues back to 2009 or 2010, any usually some extra pictures and videos from the current print versions.
I do digital. Makes it nice when sitting in hotels and green rooms when on the road.
The only digital I buy is books. I like mags for the solitude reading in the "library."
I subscribe to both, I like the extra content that sometimes is part of digital, but I really enjoy holding the printed version in my hands.

I subscribe to both but never read magazine material on the computer. I like to sit down in my nice, easy, rocking chair and get absorbed in the magazine. Often read it cover to cover. The internet is fine for looking something up but my back shoulders, arms and eyes could never handle too many hours on this thing at a time. This is for the younger guys, (read: Kids.)

Paul, I was the same way. But I've found it very convenient to sit in that comfortable chair with a nice laptop while reading OGR and using the zoom feature when I find the need.
I subscribe to the digital edition largely because it provides me access to the older editions back to 2009. I like going back in time. I read the older as well as the current digital editions when I'm on the computer for as long as my neck and back can handle it. I buy the current printed editions when convenient because as many others have posted I enjoy sitting back in my so called "easy chair" and perusing each edition at my leisure. I subscribe to a couple of other train related magazines, Classic Trains and Classic Toy Trains from Kalmbach, and enjoy reading their printed editions.
I have never subscribed, but I get every issue. I love going to B&N each Sunday mroning and wondering, hoping if this morning there will be an OGR or another mag i read there to buy. Anticipation . . .
I subscribe to the digital version, too. Best library of articles and such to search through - easier than keeping a closet full of magazines. Faster, too.
I switched. The digital version is enjoyable to flip through...and you get extra layout photos that didn't make it to print. I don't have to keep a stack of hard copies around anymore, but each issue is still available through OGR. Just the other day someone mentioned an article from several issues back. Within seconds, I found it via my digital subscription.
I am 70 yrs old and find the print version the best fit for me. I feel like a kid again, like I am looking at the latest Lionel catalog. I like the size, the tactile feel, and the ability to flip back and forth among the pages easily. Because I am on the low end of the economic scale, my computers are old cast-offs from friends and relatives. They are not very reliable. And I have hard copies back into the 1990's that I enjoy reviewing at least once a year. Call me "cheap" (which I am) but I'll just stick to the print addition as long as it is available.

I tried the digital version and it was great on a tablet, but once the kids reduced my time on the tablet to almost zero, I went back to the magazine subscription only. While it also worked on my phone, it wasn't great.
It did work well on my laptop, but I like to read magazine relaxing and not chained to a computer.
I definitely see advantages to both, but for now, its the printed copy for me only.
I love the Digital subscription, and I subscribe to it. I can download it, saved as a PDF and can read it wherever I go on my Kindle. Again, absolutely love it! Wish all magazines I subscribed to did this, and then I wouldnt have boxes of crap laying around the dang house (wife telling me to clean up my junk...lol)
I get both. The Online is great for early reading and supporting this site (main reason), and the print one I keep around the house for reference and stuff to read in the "library".

I subscribe to both but never have tried the digital version. I like the good old printed version in my hand.
