I had subscribed years ago, but opted to pick it up in the hobby store to force me into the stores on a regular basis. Problem was that between carpooling to work and the club on weekends, that was becoming difficult, plus I had magazines staked everywhere. Went digital and save them as PDF's for future reference. I don't read those other magazines enough to justify a digital subscription.

I didn't think I'd like the digital version and only spent the $$$ to support the forum.  But, since becoming a digital subscriber, I've come to prefer it because I travel a good bit and have my laptop with me at all times.  So I can access the mag anytime, anywhere I can get an internet connection; and, I'm learning to save the articles/information in the magazine.  So, much more convenient for me than a paper copy.

I subscribe to both but never read magazine material on the computer.  I like to sit down in my nice, easy, rocking chair and get absorbed in the magazine.  Often read it cover to cover.   The internet is fine for looking something up but my back shoulders, arms and eyes could never handle too many hours on this thing at a time.  This is for the younger guys, (read: Kids.)

I subscribe to the digital edition largely because it provides me access to the older editions back to 2009.  I like going back in time.  I read the older as well as the current digital editions when I'm on the computer for as long as my neck and back can handle it.  I buy the current printed editions when convenient because as many others have posted I enjoy sitting back in my so called "easy chair" and perusing each edition at my leisure.  I subscribe to a couple of other train related magazines, Classic Trains and Classic Toy Trains from Kalmbach, and enjoy reading their printed editions.

I have never subscribed, but I get every issue.  I love going to B&N each Sunday mroning and wondering, hoping if this morning there will be an OGR or another mag i read there to buy.  Anticipation . . .

I subscribe to the digital version, too.  Best library of articles and such to search through - easier than keeping a closet full of magazines.  Faster, too.

I am 70 yrs old and find the print version the best fit for me. I feel like a kid again, like I am looking at the latest Lionel catalog. I like the size, the tactile feel, and the ability to flip back and forth among the pages easily. Because I am on the low end of the economic scale, my computers are old cast-offs from friends and relatives. They are not very reliable. And I have hard copies back into the 1990's that I enjoy reviewing at least once a year. Call me "cheap" (which I am) but I'll just stick to the print addition as long as it is available.

I tried the digital version and it was great on a tablet, but once the kids reduced my time on the tablet to almost zero, I went back to the magazine subscription only.  While it also worked on my phone, it wasn't great.

It did work well on my laptop, but I like to read magazine relaxing and not chained to a computer.

I definitely see advantages to both, but for now, its the printed copy for me only.
