Perhaps it was discussed at a board meeting that multiple numbers on equipment might lead to a price increase, which Menards wants to avoid at all costs?

Since Menards offers those two cars as a pair, it is likely that it was meant to be like that.  Personally, I would just prefer that Menards not go to the trouble of putting individual numbers on their stuff as they are obviously mainly on a toy-level.. & the numbers themselves are just shiny-looking stickers.   all-in-all, I love their stuff!

I don't want to derail Bill's thread or concerns, but I just had the strangest coincidence occur. I just got around to reading this thread for the first time, while also watching the Live Railcam located at Fort Madison, Iowa, which I keep on all day. I was reading the concerns about a Menards BNSF car numbered #3928, and I heard a horn sound on the LiveCam, so I opened that screen. A Westbound JB Hunt stack train was approaching, lead by a BNSF locomotive. The engine number....#3928! I feel the need to buy a lottery ticket or something. WEIRD.

If anybody is on that camera, the timestamp is 10:27:35 this AM, if you want to doublecheck me. Perhaps I'm seeing things.

Hey Guys,

I can confirm these were made as sets, thus they have the same numbers. Each set has a different number, though.

I am working on some additional sets and I'd like to know what everyone thinks about the numbers. Would you rather have each car numbered separately? I'd love to hear what you think.

Have a great weekend!

Mark, I think the sets should be numbered the same..... my opinion. It makes the two car set unique  and something no other manufacture has ever done..
