I have 3 or 4 OK Engines shells I'm using.  I made floors and ends cut from sheet acrylic plastic.  The vestibule end has the inner wall glued in place (as is the opposite end on the car) but the actual end cap is a slip (firm) fit.  The opposite end has 2 screws to keep the floor from moving, once these screws are removed and the vestibule end is slipped off, the floor can be slid out.

There should be a number of photos on the forum, search on OK Engines or Silver Meteor.

Now that I have the GGD Silver Meteor set I may go back and revisit my old cars and do some upgrades.  I think I used some GGD trucks as well as Lionel (K-Line) trucks when I built mine.

Mac Shops had three different extrusions.  All had the same roof pattern for corrugations.  His first was as above on those beautiful B&O cars.  Then he did the Zephyr pattern - identical, but the roof corrugation pattern extended through the letterboard area above the windows.

The third pattern had a slab side below the windows, matching some PRR coaches and most dome cars.  I have a photo somewhere of that.

K-Line also made fairly accurate Budd cars.  I have one Zephyr car that, while quite shiny, matches the Mac and GG Budd cars.

Clark Benson bought extrusions made with the inaccurate Lionel die.  At the time Lionel had a correct die, and used it to make baggage cars with strange doors.  Had Clark used that die, he would have captured the 2-rail market and Haynes MacDaniel probably wouldn't have bothered.
