When On30 appeared, there were articles in the mags about converting 0n30 Bachmann to On3. I haven't seen those articles lately . I wanted to convert some of the engines to three rail because small logging engines are not available, such as the Bachmann Heisler and articulateds. I have only done a combine coach, a no-brainer truck change. Has anybody done that? (converted a Bachmann small engine to three rail?)

You cannot convert On30 to 3-rail O gauge. For one thing, the On30 models (1:48 scale models on track representing a 30" between-railheads prototype measure) are much too small. Converting these same On30 models to On3 (representing a 3-foot prototype gauge) is quite possible/easy with many On30 models (although not all).
I have already done that . . . . . O to On3 and back to O !!
