On Saturday night May 12 we had our (sort of) annual operating night on the big layout at Willis Hobbies (Mineola, NY).  The layour is a right triangle shape, 32 feet on the sides.  The minimum mainline curve is O-72, and the switches are Atlas #5.  We operate with both MTH DCS and Lionel Legacy.  The equipment (locos and cars) are from all the different manufacturers.

The radio control car track has been gone since the beginning of 2008.  That space is now the Hobby Party Room, which has the train layout, a 30 foot long 1/24th scale 8 lane slot car track, and flight simulators.

Mike could have told you about it.  But then again, he didn't stay for the fun.

Next time I'll ask Steve to invite you guys.

That's a great layout.  We used to have a hobby shop that had a small layout and a slot car track.  They expanded into a second storefront then things went sour and they eventually moved to a warehouse area and much made their business selling trophies.  Guess that worked out for them as they are still selling trophies but I do miss the train layout and racetrack.
