Would like to hear from anyone who saw Lionel's new WIFI CupolaCam Caboose at York.

Good Question, as this would be very interesting. I could not attend York this April, but have several friends who attended. I will ask them this Q..

I will probably pass on it after seeing the demo.  The video is choppy, and I want something that has smooth video at 30 FPS.  The search continues.

i think the frame rate issue was the program Dave was using to display the video He,was having issues connecting,at some point. My only question ..why take the sound out.. Lol, what a blast that would be.

So for those of us who have not seen the piece, the video is choppy and there's no sound? Did it still have a full interior?

Thanks to you who took the time and effort to respond to this post and also those individuals who responded by email. It was helpful to my decision whether or not to order this caboose based on the consensus of those who replied that, similar to GRG's observations, the video was noticeably choppy plus connection issues were observed. Again, thanks to everyone helping make my decision much easier.

I was at the Lionel booth watching the trains run. I asked Dave Olson if the caboose running on the back of the train pulled by the F3/7s was the video cam caboose he said yes and showed me the video on his I phone. Looked good to me clear and steady. I showed him the apt that I down loaded on my I phone and he said that the one. I'm glad a got a Pennsy version on pre-order.

I kind of found one. Not in my budget though, starting price at $1,000 if I read everything correctly.

I'm not seeing that as an option.

It's not like buying one is a major investment.  Try it and post it for sale if you don't like it.  Then someone else can try it and post it for sale if he doesn't like it.  Then someone else ... until the caboose finds a happy home.

For some strange reason I ordered 4, different road names....Hopefully they will look great.  ATSF, CSX, UP, CHESSIE, I am a Caboose fanatic....

I would sure like to see a video taken by one of these before I buck up for one.  Anyone know of any ?
