Here is a nice, original prewar Lionel Standard Gauge 348 passenger set which dates from about 1927-1928. It is a complete, cataloged set with the 380 electric engine and the 428, 429, and 430 passenger cars in dark green with orange window trim. The engine is the early version with the combination couplers and the tin headlights. The passenger cars are the larger series cars that measure about 18" each and have the tall 200 series wheels. The engine has been re-wheeled and has some new wiring. It runs OK but should be serviced for regular operation. Other than the new wheels, the engine has its original headlamps, trim, etc. The cars are all original and still retain their original lubrication stickers and are complete with all steps, couplers, air tanks, doors, interior seats, etc. The paint is original throughout the set and there is some overall scratching, mostly on the roofs of the cars. The paint is bright and the rubber stamping is nice throughout. This is a clean, honest and solid set that will be great on a layout or on display. A nice and large desirable standard gauge set.
Take a look at the photos. What you see is what you get. If you have any other questions, or need more photos, please contact me.
The price is 600.00 plus 50.00 for shipping and insurance via FedEx Ground within the USA
Local pickup near Chicago is welcomed. I might considering trading for other prewar Lionel standard gauge items such as a 402 set, or the 385/1835 steam locomotives, or ??
