Hey guys. I just opened up my new Atlas Premier High Cube Boxcars. When I opened up the TTX ones, I thought the color looked a little “off”. I placed the Atlas Premier next to one of my older ones made by MTH a few years ago.

I like the dull yellow paint hue on the older MTH ones. I think the new Atlas Premier ones are just too bright a shade of yellow. On the new cars, you can hardly see the reflective stripes on the side compared to the MTH.

It is what it is. These cars constantly sell out and I like the High Cubes.

I have the two TTX in yellow and the pink TTX. They all seem bright, but with the prices for the TTX high cubes on eBay, I was glad to have the opportunity to get any. Hopefully with some weathering I can eventually tone them down. In the meantime, I don’t have to worry about them clashing with any other TTX cars.

Also, @Jstewart204, congratulations on the kid!

Hey guys. Thanks to everyone for their replies. And especially thanks to Andrew for posting all the pictures. Much appreciated. Surefire , your car looks great. Congratulations to you Jstewart204 on the birth of your 2nd child.

Bigboy25. I agree that the recent paint jobs by Atlas are a little bright. My blue GATX ones really pop. But, no worries. I run them all.

Look for a video in the near future.

Thanks again.

For one semester in college, my dorm backed up to a shortline that served a Home Depot distribution hub.  They often received TTX cars, and I can attest that based on age, sun fade, etc, they appeared all sorts of variations on that yellow.

Like someone else mentioned, the Atlas car just looks like a very freshly painted version.
