These are K-Line, I don't believe they had turned out the lights yet. Only got 3 of the Sky Blue GN 21 inchers out before the lights went out.
Bill; I have two sets of the K-Line cars but missed out on the engine. Is that engine MTH or K-Line?

Thanks Bryce! Unfortunately I don't have pics of the interior. I've tried in the past but couldn't get the camera to cooperate. I may try again in the future and if I have success I will post the photos here.

Hi Frank, the Skyblue 21 inch Great Northerns were K-Line before the lights went out. Big Time bummer, would have liked to have got a few more coaches and an observation.

Randy, IRT your question re my catenary, I "kitbashed" it using using the older style Marklin catenary wire, basswood uprights, thin brass
crosspieces and insulators custom cast for me by a friend. So I don't really have a "how to do" guide. Here is another view that shows a bit more of the catenary construction. That's ACL's eb "Southland" at Mid-Grade. I had to "jack" all the MTH signal bridges up to clear the wire.
My goal was to make a "generic" catenary that would work for multiple railroads. And when running railroads (like the NKP 1948-54 which I'm running now) that would never have run under catenary...well...it's my railroad.
The dealer I bought the Marklin catenary from said the European modelers that patronized his store (since closed, sadly) derided the catenary as "too thick" for HO. Now that I have built a European HO layout (mostly Roco) and got proper scale catenary from a hobby shop in Dortmund, Germany, I understand their complaint. The correct scale HO catenary wire is very thin...and very fragile.
But for O Scale purposes, the much maligned older style Marklin catenary wire works fine.
Because I run a number of railroads in six different time periods on CONUS Lines (my operational concept) I have a number of electrics from various roads: NH, PRR, VGN, GN, MR. I initially shied away from installing catenary but when my late wife said "it just doesn't look right" I took the plunge. In that the layout is 24 x 35 ft with two 7 x 14 ft peninsulas the catenary insulation, after several "proof of concept" failures, took almost a year to install.
The LHS owner (now deceased) wondered "what do you need all this basswood for?" When done I invited him to view the final product. Now he understood!

Randy, as a followup to my post on O Scale catenary here is a view from my European layout. This is HO scale catenary. You need to be careful working around it with scenery, etc. It is most definitely not "child friendly." Even 69-year olds get hung up in the wires! And just in case you wonder, that "Mona Lisa at speed" paint scheme on that OBB (Austrian State Railway) electric is prototypically accurate. Paint schemes on European electrics are simply amazing. I photographed multiple paint schemes at Vienna, Brennero, Innsbruck, Munich, Berlin and Bremen 2018 and 2019. "Mona Lisa, with the wind blowing through her hair" was one of my favorites!

@StevefromPA - I just recently got a K-Line F40PH. Only issue with it is that it starts in reverse rather than forward after I power it up and cycle out of neutral. Other than that, I am in love with it. I ran it with some of Atlas's Horizon cars today, and it couldn't be more of a perfect match.

Well today I am going to follow Don Winslow with his view of a speeding train leaving the picture. Mine is the mid-day fast train (called a "fast train" by the L&S because its between the many stops local the the 2 stop express) to Atlanta from Savannah. Here she is just getting into the local coastal range inland from Savannah. The local commuter on the right behind the leased UP switcher is waiting for clearance to use the main down to the port.
By the way Don...you may not know it but your name is famous. When I was a boy (early 50's) there was a serial (one episode a week) on TV where the hero was ..."Don Winslow of the Coast Guard". You took care of a lot of bad guys!!

Bill, the club member that built the wooden trestles and bridges was a true craftsman. Unfortunately, he passed away, In his honor, that turtle is named after him, "The Rich Whitake Trestle." Here is a picture of his work at our old club. This trestle was disassembled and rebuilt in our current location

Postwar Paradise passenger cars. I got these Santa Fe cars in 1963. Here, they are being pulled by my 2065 baby hudson, which I got from Santa at age 4. As with most postwar trains, these cars bring with them a unique charm. I took these photos late last night.

I seem to be on a passenger car spree lately... MUST. STOP. BUYING. 21”. PASSENGER. CARS!!!
The usual discloses... I need to get a decent video camera to improve my horrible videos.
First up is a “short” LIRR commuter train with a Lionel C-420 and FA cab car with two 21” cars...
Next up is the Montreal Limited... the PA is from 3rd Rail, and the cars are a set of Premier 70’ D&H cars (luckily a bit shorter that 21”). I have been lusting after a set of these for some time (came close twice!!!), and found a “used” set on Grzyboski’s website and moved quickly for once, especially with MTH possibly going away. They look pristine and run well - long live the D&H!!!
Finally, I’ve got the Denali Star from Lionel. I ordered the 4 car set and StationSounds diner a couple of weeks ago - the cars are beautifully finished. I had intended running them behind the Alaska ABBA F3 set I purchased in the early 2000’s, but when I saw the Legacy F7’s... well, let’s just say I have little self control!!! They make for one beautiful train. I was fortunate to have rode on the Denali Star about 10 years ago (Fairbanks to Denali to Anchorage) - got to find those pictures.

SantaFeJim: Noted in your post that your favorite train was the SF "El Capitan" Well the management of the Leonardtown and Savannah was too far east of the Mississippi to help with train views, but we did have some advertising on the side of a local delivery truck down by the freight station.

Auto-focus wasn't my friend today. The Alton Limited from 1981. Getting that dinning car was a little hard. Beautiful train though. Glad I picked it up.
The more I look at these videos and pictures the more I"m inclined to buy more. LOL!!
