recently I saw some pictures of a Spanish made? Paya streamline diesel, a M 1000 I think. In red, and a blue version too. Can anybody tell me more on this engine? I couldn't find a proper site and as this train looks fine I was curious about quality, value, history etc. All I know is Paya is an known Spanish tin toy brand, still active with replica's, some made in China.

This M 1000 struck me, being US stream line fan. O and this one seems die cast, that's why I post this topic here and not under Tin Plate, I hope I did the right thing.

Kieffer,

I strongly suggest that you examine any Paya engine or cars carefully before the purchase. I have owned a few and so have some of my friends and unfortunately the cast parts, including the wheels often crack and distort due to impurities in the molding process. Replacement  parts are often difficult or impossible to obtain.

Yes, I saw a few on an auction site, Live Auctioneers, and one example had fatigue on the wheels. If a replica has that problem, and that shouldn't be a problem at all in our modern days, you might have some serious questions about the quality.
