My wife's grandfather worked for the PRR as a conductor.  Here is a photo of him taken in 1910 in Brownsville PA.  He is on the far right...looks like they were doing some street running (lol).  The is art work is his as well from around the same time.  It is a reverse glass painting of horse shoe curve, notice the 4 track main.  It has some paint loss but I am hesitant to take it to someone for repair for fear of further damage.  It hangs proudly above my layout.  I also have his PRR lantern.

Came across some cheap Beepeople from RMT, some passengers had to be trimmed, or feet or legs cut off to put at tables a few were repainted, tell ya what check out ebay lots of sitting people to bad alot come from  China. To bad the prices are great but won't give them a dime. I primed and repainted those seats to dress them up. God Speed good luck with the passenger cars.

Here is some of my Pennsy equipment on a temporary floor layout. The steamer is a Lionel H10 and the diesel an Atlas RS1. The Weaver B60 is the newest acquisition. Buildings are upgraded Walthers building flats while the tower is a PRR model I’m scratch building.

My 3rd Rail S2 had a rough life before I bought it.**  Engine and tender axles and wheels scattered around in the box, bent smoke deflectors, would not run.  After much tender loving care, an ERR upgrade, and more $$ then I like to think about, it is doing pretty good now.  Video starts as a blue screen.

**Keep in mind this was a Williams-made engine that 3rd Rail aquired during Williams bankrupcy and released as it first 3-rail engine.

In the near future, I am planning on building Bryn Mawr tower from scratch and may want to borrow some of your ideas/techniques.

Thanks for the compliments! Your Bryn Mawr tower sounds like a great project.

My tower is being modeled off one down the road from me - Virginia Avenue Tower. It's my first scratch built structure but has been coming along well.

I used AK Interactive carving foam for the brickwork - scribing this was tedious but it was a nice effect. It's not perfect brickwork but looks good to me!  For the recessed section of brick I was able to press the side of the foam in to create the indentation. Here's a post about another similar project with the same brand of foam.

The other supplies used were plastistruct, grandt line windows, microscope slides for window glass, and a few other misc detail parts. I have some PRR style signs on their way from Scale City Design that will provide some finishing touches.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I have some smaller pieces of leftover foam I can mail you, if you'd like to test out this building material.

You are not alone. When I unpacked my brand new engine, the wheels fell off the tender. I was really upset until my friend who was a quasi-dealer unpacked his and the motor fell out. I have run it on several occasions. It runs ok. I never did install the sound system. When we lived in Brooklyn I had it in my home office. I only started building a layout 2 yrs before we moved. When I made the loft ready in our new home and I unpacked the trains; the S2 was on the railrax with the other steamers. At one point my late wife asked “Where is that engine that I always liked?”. Needless to say it is the only engine ever allowed on the main floor. image

And be careful around those BEEPs. I bought one in PRR green and it rapidly turned into 4. I've upgraded one with ERR boards and railsounds too.

The Santa Fe had a cracked drive gear on the non-traction tire axle that I remounted with red LocTite and filed the outside edge of each of the two teeth on either side of the crack to get their pitch to match the other teeth. Now she runs perfectly. Another one saved!
