Anyone out there who owns and OPERATES the MTH model or did own and OPERATED one of these engines - will you please comment as to their reliability, performance, pulling power, overall sound quality, possible wheel slippage or any other useful information about them.  I have not been able to find any such info or reviews.  My THANKS in ADVANCE!

Thank you:  TEXASSP – for the video of the T-1 in action.  It made my mind up on appearances as it was the first “as delivered” version of the version I want - before removal of the skirting and “Buick” holes.

My thanks to:  RLAHAIE – for your comments.  They were exactly what I needed to hear from someone operating this model – very helpful in my decision making process.

Thank you:  BOB SEVERIN - for your comments on the PS-1 version.  I am sure all but different electronics were carried forward to the model I am considering – MTH does not completely re-invent their re-issues.

Again, thank all of you for taking the time to assist me in this purchase.

The T1 is such a wonderful and unique locomotive, this may just be the first of several you will eventually acquire..."

Yeah, a "Later Version" (my favorite) by Lionel will be a must-have, then a brass one (Weaver or Williams) will begin to look intriguing (brass is hard to not like), then the old R-O-W funky articulated (wrong but clever) one shows up occasionally...T-1's are addictive, even to a NYC fan like me. They look like they came from Mars.
