I have a friend with a Railking Challenger that is PS1. It runs fine but makes no sound at all, totally quiet. I tried doing a reset(18) with a Z750 but since you can't hear anything I can't tell if it is working. Is there a way to do the reset in a PS1 engine if the sound is out?

We checked for broken wires, disconnected items and made sure the volume POT was on loud. I think either the speaker is bad or one of the wires is broken internally.

Any ideas?

OK, A Z-4000 has the program feature, that will get you a reset even if you can't hear the clinks / Clanks.

Is the speaker on a plug that can be removed? Try disconnecting it from the engine and driving it with a small radio. (Start out with the volume very low)
That can tell you if the speaker works.

Also ohm check right from the board connector thru the speaker back to the connector. Should read 8 ohms if I recall correctly. This will verify the wires.
