Hi Marty -

I've done a couple SPTC PCC conversions using Q-car trucks to run on O scale track and overhead.  Off the shelf, GHB three rail trucks could be found and adapted.  You might be able to find those on ebay or contact George Barsky, might have some for sale.  SPTC cars are really static display models and are a project to install power trucks, etc.  They also need to be weighted in the floor so they will track properly.  I ACC'd brass bar stock under the floor to stiffen the frame a bit.  But they look great!  Have fun!

Martin-

St. Petersburg PCCs are without question the finest models of this car ever made.  They are also the spendiest and rarest.  I have two of their Shaker Rapids and waited years for them.  If you're a little flexible on prototypes, SPTC does have an El Paso and Toronto PCC listed in its current inventory for sale.

If you really want Shaker Heights, however, you may want to consider modifying a Corgi Cincinnati PCC- the Shaker livery was patterned after this- and use SPTC Shaker Rapid decals available separately.  Corgi is admittedly not SPTC quality, but for one-tenth the price, it's a good value and relatively available.

If you can't get your hands on SPTC Shaker Rapid decals, I have a few spares I'd be happy to send you.  Good hunting!
