Went to a small train show in Tipton, IN today.  Found a table with some older 2 rail items, a AHM/Rivarossi C-liner and 2 Atlas BN F9's He wanted $50 each so I passed on those, but he had old Atlas(Roco) O scale freight cars, 3 for $10 so I grabbed up the C&O and DT&I box cars along with a DM&IR ore car.  I also picked up 9 pieces of the old style Atlas flex track for a buck a piece.  Then at the LHS in Indy, I found a 3 light target signal, probably Max Grey or similar, no name on the box, only that it was made in Occupied Japan, so right after the war.   A good day all in all.    Mike

I wanted the F9's but wasnt gonna pay 50 each for them in less than mint condition with no box.  But I am very pleased with what I was able to pick up.  I even picked up a HO scale brass Trains Inc GE U50 for 10 bucks!  Its a bit of a basket case, but I have already repaired the drive system.  I need my soaker can from work to strip the foam goo and horrible tarnish off the shell and frame.

I sold one of my antique garden tractors today, so I bought myself an All Nation F7, currently in GN empire builder colors off ebay. Had my eye on it, made an offer on it which the seller accepted, free shipping if I paid the asking price. Has both trucks powered, and while the paint job is nice, I do plan to repaint.  I am torn between doing a model of a ex Milw Rd unit that a local museum had painted up in the Monon passenger colors or a CGW F unit in the early or late scheme.  The Monon and early CGW scheme would need the help of a better painter, the late single color CGW I can manage, but that is an awfully plain unit!   The faux Monon unit was on loan for a couple years to the shortline I did volunteer work in the shops during my teens. I even got some time behind the throttle on grain trains(with the engineer behind me telling me what to do).  That engine sports one of the most beautifull sounding Nathan K3a airchime horns I have ever heard.  There are video of her running on youtube, road number 83A on the pizza train. She is now in faux NKP blue bird colors as one of the units EMD sent to the NKP to try and convince them to buy, it didnt work back then. Mike
