Pictures from York would be great

I will likely take a number of photos in the Orange Hall (photos are permitted there), but likely won't be posting them to the Forum until Friday evening when I return home. Am hitching a ride to York tomorrow with some train buddies from PA. so will not have a laptop with me.

Last time I took photos I overhead gentlemen accusing me of being a cop or tax collector.  I guess I looked too young to be interested in trains...

Depends on what hall you took the picture in.  The member halls are off limits to photography.  This year the Orange hall would be the only one you could photograph in.  If you weren't in a member hall then I wouldn't worry about it.  Although it's still an idea to ask if you are shooting someone in particular.

I learned at an early age to never ask when I'm shooting someone - can only end badly for you.  Just pull the trigger and move on.

You missed the double entendre of my tongue-in-cheek response.  Marty used the phrase 'shooting someone'. My response was to be interpreted as literally shooting someone (if you used a firearm).

Started the day with a good breakfast here:

Hit all three bandit meets and my traveling companion and I bought a bunch of stuff at each.  Here is a shot of the inside of the one at the Wyndham Gardens:

There were not a lot of outside vendors due to it being chilly and windy.

It was still a good day!

Orange Hall JJ-11 and downtown York.

One outside picture and then a few from inside the Orange Hall.  Last October's York Meet was much better than I expected with many great deals; this meet not so much although there is still some great stuff.

A pleasant and unexpected surprise was a booth from Hatton's in the UK; they have set up a warehouse in Nebraska for buying collections and they have a kind of online auction.  A young man from Wales (love that accent) is working at the Nebraska warehouse and was the staffer at the booth with whom I spoke - very helpful and cordial.  I have ordered from Hatton's and I have found their trunk system to accumulate items to ship in one batch keeps the shipping costs very reasonable.

Hey - Greg I got your joke right away.  Also thought he's Gotta be from Jersey!  LOL  Saw you belong to the NJ Hi-Railers.

Thanks guys for the pictures.  I am planning on going tomorrow if I can get going earlier enough, otherwise Saturday.  It will be my first York, VERY excited!

A quick summary.  The purple hall only had layouts, no dealers and the black? hall that usually has layouts was closed.    All the dealers were in the orange hall and it was pretty crowded.  Overall the show was smaller than the last spring meet I went to.  On a positive note European LGB trans were surprisingly well represented in the Orange hall but most of the rare ones were gone by the end of the day.

Quite depressed with an empty bottle and the liquor stores closed. Lol!
Then at Quaker Steak/Lube, no beer pitchers, only individual glasses. We wanted our own pitchers!

Loving the York pictures, just wish I could be there. Atlas booth looks good. I know I will be ordering some cars from them this time around since I got a nibble last October at York. I think I bought 6 or 7 woodside reefers from 2 different booths.

Here are some more of my pix.  The first is of 5/6 of the Blue Hall alcove bunch (6th is the photographer).  The speeder belongs to the guy in the red hat, and he and the guy in the middle were headed of to a speeder run straight from York.

Sorry I missed seeing the speeder in person but one of the great things about the York Meet is the unusual things that may appear.  The speeder shown in these pictures is really neat, thank you for sharing all these great photos of it, inside and out!

You are welcome!  He even fired it up and blew the horn for us -- probably causing a little confusion on the road on the other side of the fence as it is very close to the railroad crossing there.
