If I want to make a larger pipe on an engine, how do I do it? I was thinking of finding some larger gauge black wire and passing it off as that. Any other suggestions?

What size?
Generally you can do such a thing using brass wire that comes in all sorts of sizes.
Yes. K&S metals at your hardware or hobby store. The more difficult part is mounting it - easier for brass models, since brackets can be soldered on.
It is this one. I also need the "head" of it, which hopefully I ordered something close in PSC.

Hard to know what size that really is from that photo w/o any reference point, but if you get the right casting from PSC you can do something that looks "right" with a bit of brass wire from Detail Assoc or as Bob noted K&S, and for 99.95% of the world, that will be just fine; the other 0.05% can be poked in the eye with a sharp stick until they submit.
A little better look. Probably a two inch pipe. 
Pipe is missing from the other side. In and out to a pre-heater that tempers, heats the cold water before it is added to the boiler.
This Pennsy locomotive is also super heated, where saturated steam is dried, heated to a higher temperature by re-introducing the steam to additional flue heat with additional tubing. More energy.
2" in O scale is ~ 0.050"
Brass is a great choice, but another option is solder. It can be easily bent into almost any desired shape.
