Guys:

I ran into a new problem today with the PE.  One of the Pull More tires kept coming off.  This stops and starts the engine or gives it a bumpy ride when it is off.
First I used super glue to hold it in place.  That only worked a short time and it tore into.
The last I heard Lionel did not have replacements yet of the Berks.
Now I have lots tires from a number of sources in my parts box.  I finally found one from a 0-8-0 or 0-6-0 that was as thin as I could find in my supply. This was needed as the Berk tires are thinner than Gilbert tires.  With these small tires I had to stretch it a lot and when I did it got thinner.  Almost as thin as the original.
Back on the track this seems to have worked.

This has worked well for me, even on a tire that tore slightly when it peeled off the wheel. The trick is to spread/distribute the CA quickly before it sets, I do this in a foam cradle with the loco inverted & running(slowly) with a toothpick or small  screwdriver.

The 222-108 tire for diesels cut in half(widthwise, obviously) is a good fit for the PE wheels, stretched over the wheel.

FYI

Ed Golden has co-produced traction tires for all the flyer/flyonel steamers, I have bought quiet a few and been very happy with them  They seem more robust to me than the ones that Lionel has made available in the past. I brought up the need for traction tires for the Berks and he said he needed to get the measurements and he would look into having them made.
