"Poor Mans" Dual Motored Williams 44-ton diesel

This is a Williams 44-ton diesel in PRR paint scheme that has been converted to series wired "dual" motors. The original sound board and speaker has been removed from the cab area.  The cab interior has been painted and the window area has been modified as shown. Diode controlled directional LED headlights will be added later.

Note: This "conventional powered" Williams model originally was powered by a single motor.  However converting the model to series wired dual motors greatly improves the slow speed performance.

Discussed often here, but one more time:

These locos (and their Lionel PW inspiration) infuriate me; Lionel actually produced this fair representation (as it was a toy first and a model second) of a version of a GE 80-tonner (real loco), but called it, weirdly, a 44-tonner (also real, of course, but looking very little like the 80-tonner, above). This has caused endless hours of debate and soul-searching about this mis-named loco. 

Had Lionel called it an "80-tonner" when it came out,  it would have been much more appreciated. Lionel's model of this loco is not a "bad 44-tonner model" ; it isn't a 44-tonner model at all.

Oh - BTW - good idea on the upgrade. I'm going to buy one one day and do the same. One day. Cheap thrills.
